Radiology Department

Located in front of the main hall of the center and near the ER department, we are staffed 24 hours a day to provide service for inpatients and the emergency department as needed. The medical imaging department in Beit Chabab Hospital center offers all the available techniques used for screening, diagnostics and interventional supports.

Medical quality

Our professional dedicated staff work together to provide a wide variety of community services in a friendly and compassionate manner for all the in and outpatients who benefit from our department. The department features an array of equipment's that covers all the hospital needs and the emergent cases.

The chief department physician has a chief status in his discipline, with organ specific specialization in all technical modalities, as well as visceral intervention procedures. A trained physician is also available for any vascular intervention.

Patient safety

Reducing the dose of radiation administered to the patients and selecting the proper technique while maintaining optimal examination quality is a top priority in our department.

Ease of access and personalized care

Almost all x ray exams can be performed on a walk-in basis. Confidentiality and security are ensured by providing a space area with private toilets and changing rooms, as well as many accesses to the different medical examinations rooms.

Appointments are taken while striving to meet patient requests in so far as possible.

What sets us apart?

Despite the current evolution toward slice imaging technologies such as CT scans, MRI and US, conventional radiology remains an essential first line treatments in many fields. The department of Medical imaging in BCH features a spacious radiology room where the full spectrum of x ray examination can be performed including osteoarticular, thoracic, digestive, genitourinary and pediatric radiology. The x ray fluoroscopy machine is equipped to perform all the required procedures such as Barium enema, UGI, hysterosalpingography & cystoscopy.

A DSA technique is also available to perform vascular interventional procedures such as arteriography. All exams can be performed on a walk-in basis, except requiring special preparation.

The department is available 24/7 Monday to Friday from 7:30 am till 7:00 pm, and Saturday from 7:30 am till 12:30 pm. to fulfill x-ray requests for hospitalized patients and patients being treated in emergency department.


Ultrasound, is an imaging technique that uses high frequency sound waves. There is no radiation involved, the exam is therefore risk-free for the patient. Ultrasound can be used to explore many areas of the body, including the abdomen, UTI, pelvis, breasts, muscles and tendons, neck, thyroid, testicles and prostate. The department also performs obstetrical morphological ultrasound, trans cranial examination for screening of fetal anomalies. Color and spectral Doppler ultrasound is also performed including carotid, arterial and venous ultrasound, Doppler kidney in a hypertensive patients.

We perform fine needle aspiration and conventional biopsies as well as ultrasound locating prior to surgical procedure, drainage, etc.). Private access to the ultrasound room is available.

Breast imaging

The breast imaging is staffed with compassionate, available staff member providing high quality medical performance. The mammography unit is directly connected to the ultrasound unit in order to ensure the highest privacy and confidentiality for the patient. Breast biopsy and localization can be done under mammography or ultrasound guidance depending on the case.

CT scan

The CT scan examination room is facing the ER department patient exit area, reducing the time required and the risk for transferring the unstable patients in case of emergency. Before the exam, the team systematically strives to identify any risk factors, such as allergic reactions to contrast media, kidney failure, intake of certain medications, etc... The CT scan is an imaging technique that uses X-rays. The low doses of radiation administered, as well as the precautions taken to limit the area being examined, make the CT scan a risk-free exam in terms of radiation.
